Make a vital contribution to the development of our innovative spreaders. As a Mechanical Engineer at VDL Container Systems in Hapert, you will take the technical lead in our mechanical spreader team and hold ultimate technical responsibility for the form, fit, and function of our spreader designs. As a Mechanical Engineer at VDL Container Systems in Hapert, you will work on major international projects and be closely involved from concept to customer integration of our innovative spreaders. You will be responsible for the technical design of the spreaders, assessing and signing off on mechanical deliverables, and ensuring they meet the required quality and standards. As product owner, you are skilled at justifying technical decisions. In addition, you will be responsible for executing engineering tasks, such as:

• Developing new concepts and product improvements (3D design)

• Performing mechanical calculations (e.g., strength calculations, FEM, tolerance stack-up)

• Designing for assembly and service

• Creating production design drawings (2D)

• Calculating and designing in accordance with standards such as EN 13001 and DIN 15018

• Defining, advising on, and implementing workflows and tooling for effective development

• Liaising with key suppliers and clients as the technical lead

Your strengths

As a Mechanical Engineer Spreaders at VDL Container Systems, you hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. You are familiar with and enjoy working on machinery directives, strength and fatigue calculations, and FEM analysis. Collaborating effectively in multidisciplinary teams and with stakeholders comes naturally to you. You possess natural leadership skills and know how to motivate colleagues in an inspiring way to reach agreed-upon goals. Additionally, you bring the following to the table:

• A hands-on mentality

• Experience with CAD packages (e.g., SolidWorks or Creo) and PLM / PDM tools

• 5 years of experience in a senior technical engineering role

• Proficiency in Dutch, English, and German
